Working with the team at Bascom Ventures has been a real pleasure. From the first interaction it was clear that they have a wealth of knowledge and a tremendous network that was always very attractive for us. When I was raising our seed round, a very well known founder friend of mine said “Do you know Bascom Ventures? The whole Alumni Ventures group are seriously one of the most value-add investors I’ve ever seen." There is no better reference you can get than from another founder.

What Bascom has and AV more broadly, is a great model. It is very unique and I have not seen many other funds do this. Ideally you want somebody with something other than just money. Network connections are very, very important.

Investing with Bascom Ventures and Alumni Ventures has allowed me to add a strong portfolio of early stage investments and support fellow Badgers. The fund process makes it easy to get into deals that I would not have access to, nor the time to evaluate all of them.

For the average investor, which I had been for a long time, it is hard to get into the club. The money and the deals flow from a small amount of people. It's really kind of democratizing for the little guy - an opportunity to look at the deals big venture firms are involved with.

Thanks to Alumni Ventures for creating Bascom Ventures! I have enjoyed being a part of successful early-stage initiatives from fellow alumni of the University of Wisconsin. Because of the scale and leverage of the AV group as a whole, the quality of the deals is superior.
